DO I NEED A HOME INSPECTION
Buying a home may be the biggest
investment you will make, and choosing the
right inspector can be a challenging task.
Remember that the purpose of an
inspection is to inform and educate you
about the condition of the house before you
make a financial commitment that could be
life-changing.

You can trust your NSHI-certified inspector
to have an allegiance to you alone. NSHI
inspectors will not pay fees to realtors or
hide conflicts of interest that could affect
their clients in any way. Furthermore, in
order to join NSHI, inspectors are required
to have a level of home inspection
education that surpasses all other national
home inspector association membership
requirements.

NSHI is about knowledge, ethics, and trust.
NSHI-certified inspectors will perform a
knowledgeable analysis of the home's major
systems using national standards of
practice that will provide vital information
you need to know before you buy. Your
interests will always come first and your
NSHI inspector will never release
information about the inspection to any
other party without your permission

CAN I DO AN
INSPECTION MYSELF?

Most home buyers will look at a home that
they want to purchase and look for reasons
to purchase the home, some home buyers
will look for reasons NOT to purchase the
home.  The prospective home buyer is not
able to look at the home with the unbiased,
critical eye of a home inspector.  Even a
home buyer with construction experience
does not have the knowledge and tools of a
home inspector.  A good inspector is
trained and experienced in finding the clues
in a home that indicate problems.  These
clues are sometimes very subtle and hard
to find.  Most inspectors have performed
hundreds of inspections, and they are
familiar with problems with certain building
materials or building styles.
WHO NEEDS A HOME INSPECTION?
Home Buyers:

The purchase of a home is one of the largest
purchases you will make. It is important that
you know as much as possible about this
purchase. At Covenant Home Inspection we
are trained  to evaluate the home thoroughly
and provide you with a report that will allow
you to make an informed decision about
purchasing the home.  Our inspection
reports describe each home in detail and
highlight all areas that need attention.

Home Owners:

A home inspection is a good idea even if you
are already a homeowner. We all get
physical checkups - why not give your home
a checkup? Many homeowners are living in
homes that have serious problems which if
identified early can save considerable repair
costs. For example, water leaks can cause
serious and costly problems --but if they are
caught early they can often be repaired at
little cost.

Home Sellers:

A home inspection will  give you an outline of
the routine maintenance that needs to be
done to the home, as well as make you
aware of any repairs that are needed. Home
sellers will want to have  an inspection
performed in order to find problems that a
buyer's inspection would have found. The
seller can then make the repairs prior to the
home going on the market, or acknowledge
the problem areas exist and inform the
buyer the cost of the repairs have already
been figured into the asking price.

New Construction:

Often times when having a home built, the
home owner may wonder if the contractor is
building their home properly.  At Covenant
Home Inspection we are happy to come in at
any phase of construction to evaluate the
work being performed.  Call for rates as
they vary depending on what stage of
construction is being inspected..
