It's helpful to understand the steps to take prior to the home inspection
After you've scheduled an appointment, we will ask that you sign our
Pre-Inspection agreement. It is important that you take the time to read
and understand the agreement prior to your inspection as we will not
perform any inspection without first obtaining a signed written copy of
the Pre-Inspection agreement from our clients. We prefer to use "E"
technology and will send you a Pre-Inspection Agreement via e-mail for
your review, our Pre-Inspection Agreement is also available for viewing
on our website. We will bring two copies of the Pre-Inspection
agreement to the Inspection at which time you will be asked to sign both
copies, one becomes part of your Home Inspection Report, the other we
retain for our records.
It is beneficial for you to take the time to note any specific questions you may already have for
us about the property. Letting us know ahead of time if there are any areas of particular
concern will help us to be certain we address those concerns clearly and thoroughly.
We like to encourage our clients to accompany us during the inspection as it is helpful for our
clients to see any defects that may be reported, at the time of the inspection. However it is not
required of our clients to be present at the inspection. (please note there is an additional
minimum fee of $75.00 if we are asked to return to a property we've already inspected.)
Our inspection process follows a systematic order in which the home is inspected. Although we
encourage our clients to accompany us on the inspection, and inquire as to any areas of
particular concern, we do ask that our clients respect our system and refrain from trying to
redirect our attention to another area of the home. In order for us to ensure that the entire
inspection is completed according to NSHI standards, it is important for us to stay focused on
each component of the home that we are inspecting.
We will address each area of concern that you may have, when we arrive at the applicable
section of the home. Our findings will be summarized at the end of the inspection and we will
answer any further questions you may have or review previous questions. Our goal is to be
certain you understand our reported findings completely and have had all your concerns
addressed.
